About Us

About Nävém

Nävém is a community-based expressive arts initiative founded by Krishnendu, built on the belief that healing doesn't always need words. Through movement, dance, and creative practice, Nävém holds space for people to process, express, and grow — one gentle session at a time.

Our Methodology

Movement as a language the body already understands

Every Nävém session integrates Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) and Expressive Art Therapy to nurture the connection between mind and body — helping people build resilience, regulate emotion, and access what words alone can't always reach.

Dance/Movement Therapy

The psychotherapeutic use of movement to support emotional, cognitive, physical, and social integration — used gently, and without any performance pressure.

Expressive Art Therapy

Drawing, imagery, and creative process used alongside movement, offering more than one way in for people who process differently.

WORLD
MENTAL HEALTH DAY

October 10 is World Mental Health Day. We look at three spaces in Thiruvananthapuram — The Orange Room, Kappiness and Navem — that offer assistance to people dealing with mental health issues. At a time when stigma and fear of judgement come in the way of seeking mental health care, Thiruvananthapuram has a host of spaces that offer support and guidance to navigate the situation.
